About
Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where a few friends kept swapping screenshots of whatever they were playing on their commute. At some point the recommendations got long enough that we decided to write them down properly, and the site grew out of that habit. We're not tied to any publisher — nobody hands us a schedule or a script.
The way we pick games is simple. Someone spots a release that looks interesting, flags it, and at least two of us actually sit with it for a few days. We care less about hype and more about whether a game is still fun once the shiny first hour wears off. That's why a lot of our reviews mention how something feels after a week.
We cover every genre on purpose. A good match-three can be as clever as a tactics game, and a tiny arcade racer can beat a bloated RPG for sheer joy. Mixing it up keeps us honest and keeps the catalogue useful for different kinds of players.
Everything here is written by people, not generated. If we didn't finish a game, we say so. If we loved something that reviewed badly elsewhere, we explain why.
Mikkel Sørensen — Mikkel has been reviewing mobile games since the early touchscreen days and still refuses to delete a save file. He handles most of the longer features and the final call on ratings.
